Personal Protection System (PPS)

The PPS provides organisations with a fully automated alert management and relay system for lone workers. Two levels of the systems are available:

PPS Pro Unlimited Lone Workers and Responders
PPS Lite 5 Lone Workers and 10 Responders – Expandable

The Personnel Protection System (PPS) offers a different approach to lone worker solutions. The PPS comprises of a dedicated server/pc, communications hardware (Normally supplied by Isle Systems) and our software.

Alarms from lone workers can be delivered to the PPS by SMS or SDS text message, voice call, WiFi, Two-way radio, contact switch or over an LAN/WAN IP connection.

Alarms are received and automatically processed by the PPS. This only takes a matter of seconds and alerts are then delivered directly to the people who need to know. This enables the PPS to process multiple alerts simultaneously and deliver these alerts based on a simple set of rules directly to response personnel's PC screens, mobile phones, WiFi pagers, TETRA radios, etc...

Advanced mapping solutions are also available when using PlacePoint and CampusPoint plug-ins. These utilise internet street mapping services, off the shelf mapping software or customer specific CAD drawings, aerial photographs, digital maps or any other reference images which are to scale. These maps are accessible using PC's or any mobile phone with a colour screen and internet access.

The PPS will operate anywhere in the world where there is a telecommunications infrastructure. All of the systems and GSM personal devices are SIM free so you can use your preferred mobile (cell) phone provider. Localised telecommunications infrastructure such as WiFi, Two-way radio, DECT, etc.. can also be used to activate alarms. Interfacing of other communications technology is also possible.

Some specific features within the PPS;

Positioning

Using GPS, Beacon or WiFi AP MAC enabled personal safety devices, responders are automatically given map locations and GPS coordinates in Lat/Long & Northing/Easting formats. These maps are accessible using both PC’s and mobile phones.

Continuous tracking is not needed as position information in delivered in the event of an alarm being raised. These methods allow the technology to be embraced as users do not feel the system is an intrusion.

This facility can use most internet mapping services, Microsoft MapPoint 2006/2009, CAD drawings, charts, etc.. to display a person’s location in the event of an alarm being raised.

TPA (Timed Personal Alerting)

This facility provides timer based alerting. Users of this facility call the PPS using a standard mobile phone or land line, record a voice message, normally stating their name, date, time and any possible hazards e.g. suspicious vehicles/people. They then set the timer running by keying in the number of minutes required to complete the higher risk task such as opening or closing premises and then hang up the call. If they do not call the system again within the time set an alert is automatically generated. Timers can also be set/unset using SMS or SDS text messaging.

Automatic Colleague Alerting

This facility greatly enhances your personnel’s security. In the event of one of personnel raising an alarm, their direct colleagues would also be automatically notified of the alarm enabling them to action procedures to reduce their risk. This would be especially useful for key holders and other personnel who have direct access to premises. As the PPS is fully automated, these alerts can be delivered faster and more efficiently.

Audio Recording & Relaying

Once an alarm voice call is connected to the PPS the systems automatically records all audio and streams this live to responders PC’s. The PPS Pro systems also have the ability to stream live audio to remote dial in responders.

Speed of Alarm Delivery

Because the system is automated there is no delay between the reception of an alarm and the delivery of alerts to response personnel. Fast delivery of alerts could be the difference between; at minimum - a heated argument becoming physical or in extreme cases life or death.

Alarm Auditing

All alarms received, recorded and relayed are automatically audited on the system. All elements of a case including case generation, previous alarm recordings, status of alert, location map links, case alarm recording and case notes are all date and time stamped . Each responders response times and additional notes are also recorded.

Reduce Costs

The PPS is base on a systems cost and not primarily on a per user cost. PPS Pro provides for and unlimited number (9998) lone workers/personnel and responders. PPS Lite starts as a 5 lone worker and 10 responder system which can be expanded. PPS Pro is intended for the corporate market whereas PPS Lite is intended for use by the SME market. This unique approach enables organisations to implement fully operational lone worker solutions cost effectively and with the knowledge that their investment will not be lost due to changes in business practice or requirements.

For example, the operating cost of PPS Pro can be as little as 30 euro per lone worker per year for 100 lone workers or 15 euro per lone worker per year for 200 lone workers. In short, the more lone workers added to the system the less each lone worker costs.

There are many other facilities in the system which provide enhanced levels of security for users which can be accessed using either mobile/satellite phones or dedicated personal safety devices. There are also many different personal safety devices available on the market, all of which are supported by the PPS.

SafetyLate for Lone Workers

SafetyLate is an SMS text only system and provides users with an easy to use timed check-in facility. User selectable timers are set, reset and unset using SMS text messages. Reminders are automatically sent to users of a pending alert activation. If a user fails to check-in with the system, an alarm is automatically generated and sent to nominated responders.

Three levels of the system is available

SafetyLate Pro 200 User System – Expandable
SafetyLate Lite 20 User System – Expandable
SafetyLate 5 Lite 5 User System – Expandable

SafetyLate is available as a software and GSM modem option only or as a complete system comprising of a server PC, GSM modem and the SafetyLate software.

PlacePoint is an optional add-on for the PPS. PlacePoint translates incoming coordinates from lone workers into links to your preferred mapping services. PlacePoint produces links to Google Maps, Bing Maps, MapQuest, MultiMap and many others. It also uses Microsoft MapPoint 2006 or 2009 to produce maps accessible by any mobile (cell) or satellite phone with a colour screen and internet access.

CampusPoint is an optional plug-in for PlacePoint and provides organisations with the facility to import their own CAD drawings, maps, plans, charts etc.. for use when displaying the location of a lone worker. Any device that can send GPS coordinates, Beacon Location IDs, WiFi AP MAC addresses, GSM Cell IDs or any other unique strings via SMS can use CampusPoint to display the lone workers position

Team Deploy simplifies the delivery of alarms to emergency response teams. Using imported CAD drawings of a building(s) or site(s) users can notify emergency response teams (ERT) of the location and emergency type with only a few clicks of a mouse. This software is also touch screen compatible.

Safe@MyPC provides SOS and timed alerting facilities directly from a networked PC. Working in conjunction with all levels of the PPS, Safe@MyPC automatically pops up on a user’s PC screen when a they are working outside normal working hours (definable). Users are then periodically requested to confirm that they are ok. Failure to confirm their status will generate an alert through the PPS.

BlueIP is an interface for the connection of fixed emergency buttons (e.g. Break Glass button), Fire Panels, Intruder Alarms or other triggering devices to the PPS.

On triggering of an input, BlueIP transmits the alarm over a standard network connection (LAN/WAN) to the PPS for processing. On receipt of the alarm the PPS will automatically alert the nominated responders with user configurable text as specified in the controller software.

BlueProtect – GSM
This device has a dedicated SOS panic button, Man Down sensor, GPS receiver and Bluetooth for pairing with a workers standard mobile phone.

By utilising a lone workers standard mobile phone this eliminates the need for additional SIM cards which also reduces ongoing costs. It also allows your organisation to replace aging, faulty or lost mobile phones without needing to replace the lone workers safety device. This device is mostly adopted by workers who are lone workers most of the time and prefer to keep their mobile phone as it has functions they require (e.g. Camera, Large Screen, email, car kit, many accessories, etc..)

An optional Beacon Location receiver module available for BlueProtect. This provides in-building location when GPS signals are unavailable.

BlueBeacon & BeaconNet

BlueBeacon is a fixed location beacon transmitter for use with devices incorporating our beacon module. BlueBeacon transmits a location ID which is then used by BlueProtect and other devices to provide their location in the event of an alert activation.

BlueProtect – WiFi
